Getting Started
New to Kayak Wisconsin?
Watch our quick how-to video to learn how self-serve rentals work. When you book your reservation, you'll receive an email with a waiver and a separate email to download the app. For convenience, the links are listed below. You'll still need to check your email for app authentication information.
You'll get an email from Masterlock after you make your Kayak Wisconsin reservation. Please wait for that email before downloading the app. It'll have your authentication information in it.
Kayak Wisconsin is a family-owned, self-serve kayak rental business with many locations across the Green Bay and Fox Cities areas — and growing to new communities each year. Book online, unlock your kayak via smartphone app, and paddle — no staff on-site needed. Paddles and life jackets are included with every rental.
How does self-serve rental work?
+
Book at kayakwis.com, sign your digital waiver, and download the Master Lock Vault Enterprise app. At your location, use the app to unlock the Bluetooth locks. The locks will be sleeping when you arrive — click any button on the lock to wake it up, then tap "Unlock" in your app. Your kayak, paddle, and life jacket are waiting right by the water. When you're done, re-rack everything the way you found it.
Do I need a reservation?
+
Yes, reservations are required — we don't take credit card numbers over the phone, so all bookings need to be made online. You can find the booking link at kayakwis.com. Reservations close one hour before each rental's start time, but we can often get you in sooner. If the time you want doesn't appear available online, text us at (920) 278-9766 and we'll see what we can do. Bonus: if kayaks are available right now, we'll often tell you to book the next available slot and let you head out early — which means extra time on the water at no extra charge, if available.
Are any locations ADA accessible?
+
Several Kayak Wisconsin launch sites have ADA accessible kayak launches. Check each location listing on the site for accessibility details before you head out. Heads up — the kayaks are heavy, and getting one off the rack on your own can be difficult. Having a kayaking buddy makes the whole experience much easier.
Is this good for beginners and families?
+
Absolutely. Our flat-water locations on lakes and calm rivers are ideal for first-timers and kids. Lily Lake and Duck Creek Quarry are great family spots. Pro tip: paddle against the current first so the return trip is easy. We always recommend paddling with an experienced paddler your first time out — and since these are self-serve rentals, bringing a buddy is highly recommended.
Can I stay out longer than my booking?
+
On weekdays, text us and we'll often let you extend at no extra charge if availability allows. On weekends, regular fees always apply due to higher demand.
